You’ve heard the phrase, “empowered women, empower women”. Well I was able to witness it first hand. I had the honor of working with a client and her two daughters, helping them find the home to start their next chapter. Each one of them was a part of the buying process, every step of the way. Christine is newly divorced and now a single mom to her two daughters. We embarked on the journey for her to purchase a new home and with each and every home we looked at, her daughters were either there for the showings, or if they couldn’t be there, they were consulted and virtually toured the home. A decision to place an offer was never made until all three of the women were in agreement. It was such an honor to be a witness to watching two young girls understand the power of their voice, and to learn that what they have to say actually matters. They may not completely get it now, but I am certain as they get older and have other big decisions to make, that being empowered by their mom in this process will serve them very well.
The Definition of a Strong Independant Woman, Version 2
I wrote the original version of this article a few years ago. Recently Jackie Pilossoph with Divorced Girl Smiling asked me to expand on it.
